December Newsletter

Kia ora,

Another challenging year with Delta having its way. However, it’s hard not to be impressed by the number of Kiwis who have made the effort to be vaccinated to enable life to return to as normal as possible. Up there with the best in the world.

Despite the challenges, we have managed to keep engaged with the start-up community and to host pitch events, albeit the last two being virtual. It’s great to report that CA members have now invested over $2m since we were established.  It’s also pleasing to note the progress we are making on a number of fronts now we have more resources available to enable CA to be a more professional outfit. Check out our new website and our investment portfolio update.

Thank you for your continued support, spread the word on the value of being involved in the emerging technology ecosystem and we look forward to seeing you at our first live pitch event (hopefully in person) on 24th February.

Lastly, thanks also to the Board members for giving up their time to Gabby and Matt for their contributions.

Have a happy Xmas and an enjoyable New Year.

Kind Regards

Ngā mihi

Investor News

Our final Investor Evening of 2021 was held on the 25th of November and was once again a virtual event. We had six fantastic founders who put together some great pitches across a wide range of products. It was great to see such different approaches and yet again we witnessed a great advert for the innovation ecosystem here in Otautahi and Aotearoa.

Details of the companies that pitched are below:

  •  Stockfox provides expert analysis, advice, and tips about what shares and stocks to invest in on the New Zealand, Australian, and US stock markets.
  • Power Trip helps you find charging stations, plan your road trips easily, figure out if you have enough charge to get to your next destination and monitor your driving to ensure you don't get a flat battery.
  • HealthNow provides a financial solution that gives you control of your health. Manage how you access care when you need it.
  • Cetogenix is a clean technology company focused on developing sustainable solutions to tackle climate change on a global scale.
  • Ritual & Rise brings you New Zealand's first plant-based protein powder grown and produced in New Zealand, from locally sourced ingredients.
  • OrbViz is an interactive data visualisation tool to help you understand complex data, gain insights, and get clarity to make better, data-driven decisions
