April Newsletter
Gabby Addington

Kia ora,

Since our last newsletter in February, we have had two Investor Events, both of which were well attended with over 50 registrations each. A big thank you to Lane Neave and Deloitte respectively for hosting us.

We have and some great quality pitches at those events, and discussions are progressing with four of those presenters who members have expressed an interest in investing in.

I know I keep mentioning it, but all members (and ex-members with investments through the CA Nominee) really do need to sign up to Catalist. All future correspondence re investment opportunities will be being disseminated through this platform, so it is vital that you join ASAP.

Gabby and I met up with Richard Coon, Chair of Angel Investors Marlborough (AIM) a few weeks back. It was very beneficial discussing our respective angel groups and recent investments. Closer alignment with AIM and Mainland Angel Investors from Southland is one of our key strategic objectives to ensure the ongoing health of the South Island start-up ecosystem.

It’s very heartening to see that we have had 6 new members join CA so far in 2023, please keep those introductions coming, we are aiming for at least another 12 members before the end of the year.

I look forward to seeing you all (hopefully with a potential-member guest in tow) at our next Investor Evening on Thursday 11th May.

Ngā mihi

Richard Morgan

Catalist

Please remember to sign up to Catalist, even if you do not have any live investments as we are now sharing deals with other Angel Groups, and it is a great opportunity to access even more potential investments across New Zealand.

We are still finalising the detail of some investments and we hope to have these completed by the end of April.

If you have any questions about Catalist or your portfolio, please get in touch with Gabby.
