Kia ora,

It was pleasing to host another pitch evening with an interesting mix of promising companies presenting prior to Easter. Full details of the presentations are noted below. Contact Gabby if you would like more details or would like to invest in any of them. Our next pitch evening will be an in-person event towards the end of May.

We also have two other events coming up. The first is on 3 May and is part of our Investor Education Series and features Rico Gomez of Neurofit, an experienced mental Health Coach (see below for more details and to register).

The second will feature some smaller sessions on Membership Growth. We will be looking for you to bring prospective members along to find out from a variety of CA members what it’s like to be an Angel Investor. More details will follow on the timing of these sessions.

Investor News

We managed to squeeze in an Investor Evening just before Easter and yet again we had three fantastic companies who did a great job pitching virtually. As we said on the night, we truly hope this is the last of the virtual pitch evenings for a long time and cannot wait to get together at our next event.

For those that missed it, the companies that pitched were:

Ingeneous are a New Zealand company dedicated to making the science of nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics accessible for better wellbeing. They present this through accurate analysis of your genotype and provide evidence based and actionable recommendations that you can follow.

Their goal is to provide you with the best head start when it comes to your nutrition, fitness, lifestyle choices and supplementation – by filling in the blanks that are only visible through your genetics.

Catalist is New Zealand’s only licensed and regulated stock exchange, designed for investing in small and medium-sized businesses. Investors can trade shares, debt securities and other financial products, while businesses can raise new capital with lower costs and administrative burdens. Catalist facilitates trading through periodic auctions, providing SMEs, investors and brokers with fair, orderly and transparent liquidity suitable for less liquid securities.

Evithé Biotechnology aims to expand the global medicines toolbox by putting nature back into medicine. Their technology is inspired by the way that plants have evolved over millions of years to form a multi-target defence system.

Their team has harnessed this process into a novel botanical drug which has the potential to support the treatment of a range of diseases that need a solution.

Evithé Biotechnology is taking a short-cut to market via the 4 years FDA botanical drug pathway.

Events

We are all looking forward to the prospect of getting together in-person and we are planning a range of events to embrace the opportunity to catch up with a view to growing both engagement and membership numbers over the next few months.

Mental Health

First up we have the start of our Investor Education series in 2022 with Rico Gomez of Neurofit on the 3rd of May. Certified in mental health with a background of psychology and counselling, Rico Gomez is a mental health coach. His passion is to help working professionals become unstuck from the mental chaos in order experience life to the fullest.

Register here to make sure that you do not miss out!

Membership Growth

We are also planning some smaller sessions with a focus on membership growth, and we encourage everyone to reach out to any potential new members and get them to come along to investor evenings and other events to showcase what it means to be an Angel Investor.
